Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga made beautiful music together in 2018’s A Star is Born, but it seems the duo’s relationship may have hit a sour note.
According to a source, the pop princess, 35, is “upset” that Bradley didn’t cast her in his latest directing project, Maestro. Instead, he chose Promising Young Woman actress Carey Mulligan as his costar for the Netflix biopic about legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein.
“Gaga feels that a lot of the success of A Star is Born was due to her star power and fanbase,” dishes the source, “and that Bradley should recognize that.” While the singer, who’s currently filming House of Gucci in Italy, understands that Carey, 35, might be a better fit for Maestro, the source says she “fully expects Bradley to keep his promise to write another project for the two of them.”
But the American Hustle star, 46, may already have moved on, warns a second insider. “Bradley Cooper ’s not telling Lady Gaga no, but she could be waiting for an onscreen reunion that’s never going to happen.” So much for an encore.
