Though Britney Spears declared that she and Justin Timberlake had “one of the world’s biggest breakups,” a source tells BIGGERSTARS WEEKLY the two have maintained an under-the-radar friendship through the years.
“It’s purely platonic, and they don’t talk all that often, but Justin checks in on her from time to time;’ the source spills. “They’ll give each other career advice, call when they have a birthday or sometimes just to catch up, though they both insist that’s as far as it goes.
” That didn’t stop their recent flirty Instagram interaction from raising eyebrows: After Brit posted a video dancing to JT’s track “Filthy” and labeled him a “genius,” he replied by liking the video and commenting with emojis. “There’s nothing romantic going on between them, but a lot of people think they were the love of each other’s lives, so those feelings must run pretty deep,” adds the source. “Their significant others may not like that they still chat, but it’s something they’ve just accepted.”
