Leaving Las Vegas: Loved ones are begging Nicolas Cage to leave Las Vegas in the wake of his recent booze-filled row.
The actor, 57, shocked onlookers on Sept.13, when he was booted from a local restaurant for being drunk and disorderly—and looking so scruffy and shabby that he was mistaken for a homeless man. “The sight of Nic staggering around barefoot and blitzed out of his mind is a huge cry for help as far as his family and friends are concerned,” spills a source.
The erratic, long-troubled star “seems to be on a downward spiral,” continues the source. “This is a guy on his fifth marriage [he wed 26-year-old Riko Shibata last February] and in desperate need of a more stable lifestyle.”
Nicolas is now shooting a new movie, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, “but on days he’s not working, he just falls apart,” laments the source. “Sure, living in Nevada suits Nicolas Cage from a tax perspective, and he gets to shuffle around in semi-anonymity there, But people fear that if he doesn’t move out or leave Las Vegas and get the help he needs, things are going to end badly.”
