Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon ‘s Big Little Rivalry!
What started out as a mutual love of literature has turned into an all-out competition between co-stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon as the former besties race to option the hottest new books on the shelves.
Last month, Nicole, 52, announced her third book-to-TV project, and friends say Reese isn’t happy about it since it was her idea in the first place. Ever since she officially turned her book club Hello Sunshine into a production company in 2016, the 44-year-old Legally Blonde star has acquired dozens of stories. “When Big Little Lies took off, Reese became a serious producer in Hollywood,” says a friend. “She’s become an unofficial leader in telling women’s stories and now everyone from Nicole to Jen Aniston are all trying to do the same thing. “But of all the women, it’s Nicole she’s most worried about. She doesn’t want a bidding war over a book to come between their lucrative working relationship. But given the nature of the business, it isn’t out of the question.”
