After more than 10 years together, Simon Cowell is finally set to wed Lauren Silverman. A source says the American Idol creator, 62, proposed and the 44-year-old happily accepted on Christmas Eve at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, where they first met in 2004.
“Simon wanted the proposal to be intimate and low-key,” dishes the source, noting only that their son, Eric, 7, and Lauren’s son, Adam,16, were in attendance. “It was a magical moment.” While Simon’s previously said he “didn’t believe in marriage,” the source reveals he had a change of heart after a terrifying electric bike accident left him with a broken back in August. “Simon Cowell was bedridden for months and spent over a year in physical therapy, but Lauren Silverman stuck by his side,” the source shares.
